Canadian Box Lacrosse Comes To Turf City

Wayne, NJ: The Eagle Indoor Lacrosse Association, a Canadian Box League is coming to Turf City in Wayne, NJ.  The weekly program is for current High School players and entry is by tryout only.  To ensure maximum competitiveness, a limited number of players will be accepted.

If accepted, players will participate in a 2-hour session on Mondays starting September 24th.  This includes instructional time with Canadian Box coaches and game time on Turf City's boarded field.  Tryouts are scheduled for Monday, September 17th from 4-7pm.  Applications must be in by September 15th to tryout.

The program will be run by Ginny Capicchioni, a world class goalkeeper.  She was a 3-time Northeast Conference Goalie of the Year at Sacred Heart (D1) and was twice ranked in the NCAA's Top 10 in Save Percentage.  Following college she became the first woman in North America to sign with a men's professional team, the first woman to play in a men's professional lacrosse game, the first American born goalkeeper to play in a Canadian Lacrosse Championship and the first woman to play for a men's national team in any sport.

Capicchioni has had an extensive professional career, and is currently signed with the Kentucky Stickhorses of the North American Lacrosse League.  In 2011 she was a member of the USA National Indoor Team and competed at the World Championships in Prague.

Regular field equipment is used for tryouts.  If accepted, player's will be required to wear box lacrosse equipment.  Special discounted packages will be available through the league.
